The 2008 Indiana State Fair

Hazel, Megan and I decided that today would be a great day to go to the Indiana State Fair. It was sunny, 75 degrees, and Hazel had her party shoes on.

Hazel is ready for the fair!

Hazel and Megan checking out the award winning sow and piglets.

Apparently Hazel likes milkshakes from the Dairy Bar.

This is the Indiana State Fair, so it only makes sense that there is a tiger show. There were about eight tigers in the cage, and the guy treated them like they were house cats!

Hazel found a rocking chair that was just her size.

It has been a while since we have posted, and thought that we should probably post some other pictures that we have snapped in the past two weeks of Hazel looking extra cute.

Sometimes dinner is delicious...

Sometimes dinner is fashionable.

Hazel found a book that she likes...

Now she just needs someone to help her read it...

Mom is always a sucker for a ladybug book!

Trouble, thy name is Hazel

Megan and I are officially in trouble, as Miss Hazel has learned a few new tricks this past week. When we went into her room this morning after her nap, she decided that prone was not the position for her. Some photographic evidence.

Needless to say, her crib is delicious, and we decided it was time to lower the mattress.

On a related note, some one has decided that the sedentary life is not for her. Just today she seemed to figure out the most efficient way to get from where ever she may be to where ever it is she might like to go.

Disney - Round 3

The final installment. . .

For those of you who didn't believe Glenn and I when we said we saw an alligator in the lagoon outside of our resort... We submit photographic proof.

He was about 4 feet long, but just minding his own business.

On our last day of the trip, we had breakfast at the Cape May Cafe in our resort. Imagine our surprise when Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale showed up!

Minnie's got Miss Hazel's number! How did she know Peek-A-Boo is Hazel's favorite game?

This may have been the cutest moment of the trip, when Hazel gave Minnie a kiss on the nose.

Hazel just can't take her eyes off Minnie.

Hazel also gave Chip a kiss on the nose, but you wouldn't know it from this picture.

Goofy was a little taller than Hazel was comfortable with.

She wasn't quite sure whether she wanted to look at him or not. She decided to act shy.

Nope. I'm not gonna look at him.

I'm not quite sure she appreciated Dale holding her. But it did make for a cute picture.

She was much happier smiling at Dale when Momma was holding her.

Yes, Hazel liked the characters a lot!

And the final word.... Hazel loved Disney, but it made her sleepy...

Only an adorable baby girl could get away with this and make it look cute.

Disney - Round 2

The official Spaceship Earth 2008 shot. They have totally revamped the ride inside, and it is AWESOME! Glenn and I highly recommend it!

The celebration included a vow renewal ceremony for my mom and dad. My mom's good friend, Susan (who is the Surrogate Judge in Hunterdon County, NJ) came down to preside over the "nuptials." Anne and Steph stood up for Mom, and Brian stood up for Dad,
as they did at the original wedding.

I (who, of course was not at the original wedding) gave a reading, and Sarah gave the toast. The whole ceremony was touching; everyone cried.

After the ceremony, we all headed over to EPCOT for a scavenger hunt. While there, Glenn was pulled out of the crowd to play the role of Sir Galahad in the World Showcase Performers' production of King Artur and the Holy Grail. This being Glenn's debut performance, I took lots of pictures:

At the end of the night, we celebrated with a special dinner in EPCOT catered by each country of the World Showcase. After dinner, Minnie and Goofy showed up and there was lots of dancing, which the kids loved.

Hazel LOVES dancing, but she does get a little jealous when Momma holds Audrey.

Laura joined us for dinner and dancing when her performances in Italy were over.

Stay tuned for Round 3. Join us as Hazel finally comes face to face with Minnie, Goofy, and Chip and Dale.

You asked for it . . . Our first round of Disney photos. . .

30 years ago, this month, my parents met each other in Disney World. Six months later they were married. To celebrate such a magical love story, my entire family (all five of my parents' children and all of the grandchildren and my parents too) took over Disney World for a week. I could sit here for hours and type away all the fun experiences we had, but I think the pictures will say it better than I could. . .

Hazel's first glimpse of Mickey Mouse. "Hmmm... Who is that? What is that?"

Uncle Brian is SO excited to be in Disney World. Papaw wishes the paparazzi would leave him alone.

Our first day in Disney was magical. It even ended with a rainbow.

We're headed off on a Safari.

The cousins are all ready to see some animals. (Wild Animals, Uncle Glenn!)

The whole family.
(minus Papaw, who was smarter than all of us and decided to stay out of the heat and remain in the air conditioning.)

The unofficial Burton Sister and my college roommate, Laura. Just another day at work.

This is not a commentary on Laura's acting. It was just so hot, and little girls get so sleepy.

Make sure to keep checking in.... Round two coming soon.
