Hazel's First Christmas (Part Two)

Once we returned home on Christmas day, it was time to attack the presents under our own tree. Imagine our surprise when we arrived home and found that even though we had been in Illinois, Santa had still stopped at our house and filled our stockings and left us some gifts. We opened the presents from Santa, then stopped to have some Christmas dinner. After dinner we opened the rest of our gifts. Hazel loved looking at the Christmas Tree lights and the wrapping paper, and she was so excited about all her presents!

Opening presents one at a time is not fast enough... Two hands, two presents.

Santa's elves tuned Grammy's piano and Santa brought it for Hazel's Christmas present.

Oooh Daddy, that wrapping paper is so pretty!

Christmas is the best! We should have Christmas everyday!

Uncle Kenny gave me a Tenderheart Bear.

No, Daddy. It's mine, not yours.

All this excitement has worn me out!

And...... I'm spent. Christmas part two is officially over.

Hazel's First Christmas (Part One)

Well Christmas has come and gone, and Hazel had a pretty good one. We spent Christmas Eve at Grammy and Papaw Burton's house in Illinois, and stayed for the party that night, where everyone admired how cute and adorable she is. She also got to meet Aunt Sarah and Uncle Andy for the first time, and some of her Burton relatives. We had presents to open Christmas morning, under Grammy's tree, and after we played with them for a little while, we headed home where there were even more presents waiting for us under our tree. . .

Only one more day to Christmas...

Hmm...which presents are for me?

I think that I will just wait here until we can start opening presents!

I've got my stocking ready, where is Santa?

The Crisafullis couldn't make it to the Christmas Eve party, but helped me look mighty fancy in my new dress.

Ok, we will let Uncle Andy into the picture, too.

No returns without a receipt

Well, it is official. Our 60 day window has expired, we lost the receipt, and we can no longer return Hazel. And the hospital doesn't even give out store credit. So, I guess we will keep our favorite 2 month old. Here are some pictures to commemorate her turning 2 months old:

Polar Bear

With the winter weather upon us (we got a few inches of snow overnight), we wanted to be sure that everyone knows we're bundling Baby Hazel up when we go outside. Here are a few pictures of her getting ready to go out and help us hang the Christmas lights....

Meeting the Great-Grandparents

After Thanksgiving, Hazel took her first out-of-state trip to Illinois to visit Grammy and Papaw Burton. While there, she visited her Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa White. Everyone was very excited and since Hazel had smiled for the first time that Saturday morning, she was anxious to try it out on Great-Grandpa White.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello all! Hazel has successfully made it through her first Thanksgiving. It was a very exciting couple of days, as the Indianapolis McCains hosted the Gustins. Hazel got to meet three more cousins (Madison, Jacob, and Jillian) and their handlers, Aunt Kelly and Uncle Rob. From this point, I think that some pictures will explain the experience better than I can in words...

Hazel is so excited to meet her cousins!

Hazel, all pretty and awaiting the Gustins!

Thanksgiving afternoon. We'll blame the turkey.

No time for Aunt Kelly. The Colts are playing!

Ok, now we can take a good long look at Aunt Kelly.

Hazel and Maddie are doing just fine.

Happy Birthday Baby Hazel!

Hazel is one month old today! You might ask what a young Hoosier does on her one-month birthday. Well mostly she eats and sleeps, but "Baby Hazel" (as her 2-year-old cousin Audrey has taken to calling her) also had a bath today and helped Momma with the laundry. She is super excited because Daddy is coming home at lunch-time and we're all going to the grocery store! Oh exciting birthday!

For those of you who don't know, we are proud to report that Hazel has taught herself how to roll from her back to her front. She demonstrated her new skill for us twice last Sunday night and then again once on Monday and once on Tuesday, but she has been stubborn about showing off since then. If we manage to catch it on video, we may post it to prove what a genius and athletic little girl we have.

And last but not least, we want to say welcome to Matthew Daniel Kumm, Hazel's newest cousin, born on Tuesday afternoon. She is so excited to have a playmate who's roughly her size. Someone send us pictures!

To satisfy Hazel's avid admirers, here are a few photos taken on her one month birthday....

And a few from this past week, which Daddy took of Hazel in Daddy's favorite outfit...

Three Weeks

Hazel is three weeks old today! Given this auspicious occasion, we thought we'd post some pictures and update everyone on her busy busy life.

This past weekend, Aunt Stephanie and cousin Sarah Kate came to visit and play.

Sarah Kate and Hazel getting to know each other.

Sarah Kate is becoming a pro at being one of the big girls. It's hard to believe she's not the baby anymore.

Yesterday and today have also been busy days for Miss. Hazel. Yesterday we went to Auntie Anne's house to play with Audrey.

Hazel's all-dressed up to go out in the world.

Today we're going out to brunch with Momma's friends, Carey and Jessica, so we have to look our cutest.
