Happy Groundhog's Day!

So, Saturday was an exciting day all around. Glenn's divers had their sectional meet during the day, and one of his divers came in 8th. That is a great improvement over last year where they did not have enough legal dives to even finish. And, now that sectionals is over, there will be no more 6:30am diving practice for at least 8 months. Yay!

While Glenn was at the pool, Megan and Hazel went out to Target. While there, Hazel convinced her mom that she needed a Groundhog's Day present. You will see the outcome of her persuasion below. But first, some new pictures!

Hazel loves her new toy, but her toes barely reach the floor!

Look at all the fun things to do while jumping!

And now, with no further ado, Hazel in action:

We tried the pillow to give her better traction, but it was too tall. We will find something better next time!

The Infectious Ward

No new photos today. Just an update that everybody's favorite Hazelnut is battling croup and an ear infection. (An unfortunate side effect, Dr. Santos says, of being a daycare baby. Let the guilt trip begin. I say, however, that she is building up immunities and we're actually doing her a favor by sending her to school. So there. The trash heap has spoken. Nyah.)

What's worse, though, is that Hazel's nurses are both sick with nasty, persistent colds, which just makes the night-time wakefulness not fun for anyone. And it makes everyone cranky.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel, though. Dr. Santos prescribed Hazel some antibiotics and told us that she should be feeling better today or tonight, so maybe we can all get some sleep tonight, and we are planning on spending Sunday snuggled up under blankets watching the Big Game (I think there are trademark reasons for why I can't say S--er Bowl) and recuperating.

We'll have more pictures soon; it's just that no one's felt very photogenic lately.

3 Months Old!

Just a quick update to remind everyone that Hazel turned 3 months old today. She is enjoying going to school, and her teachers love her. They all think that she is by far the cutest thing going. We tend to agree.

Here are a few pictures from this past weekend (poor Colts) and today. Enjoy!

She cheered as hard as she could, but the Colts fell just short. Darn.

The nurses at the hospital warned us her eyes might not stay blue. Some how, we think they just might.

She would like you to notice her impressive head control...

...and she is working on sitting up!

First Day of School

Today was Hazel's first day of school, and Momma's first day back at work. I think it was more tragic for me than it was for Hazel. She smiled when I kissed her goodbye, and again when I went back inside for one last kiss goodbye, then looked at me as if to say "What's the big deal, Mom?" When I went back to pick her up, she was just relaxing in one of the baby recliners looking at another baby sitting next to her. She didn't act overly excited to see me, but rather seemed to say, "Hey, I know you. It's cool that you're here." As for being back at work, I think the hardest part was all the well-meaning people asking, "Do you miss your baby?" Sometimes I wanted to shout, "I didn't until you just reminded me that I left her in the care of strangers!" But honestly, I focused on work, and only worked a half-day, so it really was pretty manageable. I think the real test will be when I start back full-time next week, and start back to Court all day Tuesday. But that's a post for next week. For now, Hazel wanted to share a few more pictures. (Because I know there would be dire consequences if I published a post with no new pictures.)

First a few of Hazel in her Bumbo seat:

And next, a few of Hazel in her first day of school outfit:
